Modern slavery in all its forms, including forced labour, servitude, child labour, bonded labour and human trafficking, is strictly prohibited within Catford Man and Van and in any organisation that supplies goods or services to us. This commitment is reflected in our internal policies, our expectations of staff conduct, and the standards we set for our suppliers and contractors.

All employees, agency workers and contractors are expected to act with integrity and in line with our values. Any breach of this policy may result in disciplinary action, termination of contracts or referral to relevant authorities where appropriate.

Our Operations and Supply Chains

Catford Man and Van provides man and van and related transport and removal services. Our supply chain includes vehicle and equipment providers, fuel suppliers, uniform and consumables suppliers, and various subcontracted service providers. We recognise that certain parts of the transport, logistics and associated sectors can carry a higher risk of labour exploitation, particularly where low-skilled or temporary labour is used.

We are committed to working only with suppliers and partners who share our values and can demonstrate that they are taking effective steps to prevent modern slavery within their own operations and supply chains.

Supplier Standards and Audits

All new suppliers and contractors are assessed against our ethical standards, which include specific requirements on modern slavery and human rights. We expect our suppliers to comply with all applicable labour, employment and human rights laws, and to maintain transparent records that can be reviewed on request.

Where appropriate and proportionate to the level of risk, we conduct supplier audits to verify compliance with our standards. These audits may include document reviews, site visits and discussions with management and workers about recruitment practices, working hours, pay arrangements and grievance mechanisms. If we identify non-compliance, we work with the supplier to agree a corrective action plan and timeframe. If issues are not resolved, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate the relationship.

Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing

We encourage anyone working for or with Catford Man and Van to speak up if they have concerns about modern slavery or unethical labour practices. Concerns can be raised with a manager, a senior member of the business or through any established internal reporting channels. Reports can be made in confidence, and we will not tolerate any form of victimisation or retaliation against individuals who raise concerns in good faith.

Responsibility for overseeing this Modern Slavery Statement and our associated practices rests with the senior management of Catford Man and Van. We monitor the effectiveness of our measures through regular reviews of supplier performance, incident reports, audit findings and feedback from staff and stakeholders.

This statement is reviewed at least once every year to ensure it remains current, effective and aligned with legal requirements and best practice. As part of the annual review, we assess emerging risks, consider lessons learned, and identify opportunities for improvement in our policies, training and supplier engagement. Where necessary, we update our procedures and communicate changes to employees and suppliers.
